EFINORD-SNS Network call

The Nordic region has a long tradition of co-operation within forest research via the Nordic Forest Research Cooperation Committee, SNS (SamNordisk Skogforskning). SNS, founded in 1972, is an institution within and financed by The Nordic Council of Ministers, and is one of EFINORD core partners. As of 2012, the previous SNS networks are joint EFINORD-SNS networks and are announced and organised jointly between the two organisations.

The aim of the joint networks are:

• to increase North European regional synergy within forest research by networking and joint utilisation of unique research facilities

• to establish better contact between the forest research communities in the Nordic, Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic regions

• to strengthen North European forest research and networking in Europe

• to encourage North European forest researchers to take part in pan-European and international projects

The aim of SNS-EFINORD cooperation is to establish better contact between the forest research communities in the Nordic, Baltic Sea and the North Atlantic regions, to tie a closer link between the North European Region and EFI and to add a European dimensions into the well-established Nordic forest research co-operation.

Network grants are for 1 year, and a self financing component of at minimum 50% of the total budget of the network is required. Researchers at research institutions in the Nordic and other countries in the EFINORD area are eligible to apply.
